Microsoft Office Training Classes

Microsoft Office is a suite of programs specifically designed for work that may be performed in office environments. This includes Word Processing (Microsoft Word), Spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), and Email (Microsoft Outlook). This is an introductory class designed to provide students the basic knowledge required to use MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. Upon completion students will be able create documents and use basic functions to accentuate their work.

Here is a brief description of what students can anticipate learning in Portland Support's Microsoft Office Training Class:

• Learn how to create MS Word documents and apply styling techniques
• Learn how to create MS Excel documents and how to apply basic formulas
• Learn how to configure, use, and manage MS Outlook
• Learn how to update MS office applications
• Get an introduction to other MS Office applications (MS Publisher and MS PowerPoint)

Say No To Text Book Computer Training!

Pitching the contents of a dry, out of date text book is no way to teach computer fundamentals. Computers, hardware, software, and the plethora of devices that exist today are rooted in a very dynamic world. As we move forward text books simply cannot keep up with technology. The hidden truth about learning computers via text book training is that your average person only requires about 10% - 20% of the total material being offered. Microsoft Word training is a good example. The complexity of this application, including its correlation to other Microsoft Office applications, requires at least 30 hours of training before the student becomes proficient. Our experience shows that average computer users only want to know the basics, and at the very least, a method to learn as they progress.
